Fort Worth Alliance Air Show, one of the world’s most successful air shows, from 2018 to 2022, was facing a challenge during the during 2020–2021 pandemic. How do conduct an air show that dypically drew thousands of people when restrictions limited large gatherings? The solution was to create the first drive-in air show.
I helped to successfully transition the air show to a drive-in event during the pandemic, which required a complete reimagining of the advertising campaign. The integrated campaign comprised video, digital, print, radio, and social media components. In 2020, USA Today named it the nation’s top air show, in part because of our successful marketing efforts. The result was approximately 7,800 cars and 20,000 attendees.
