Federal Home Loan Bank Annual Report

The Challenge

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas needed its 2019 Annual Report to communicate its value to member financial institutions while reinforcing the organization’s role as a trusted financial partner. As the industry entered an increasingly uncertain economic environment, the report needed to go beyond presenting financial results and instead tell a compelling story about the relationships between FHLB Dallas, its members, and the communities they serve.

The objective was to create a theme that connected FHLB Dallas’s products and services with real member success stories while reinforcing the organization’s commitment to partnership and long-term stability.

The Concept

I developed the Building Bridges theme, creating the central concept that tied together every aspect of the report. The theme symbolized the connections between FHLB Dallas and its member institutions, as well as the relationships those institutions build with homeowners, businesses, and communities. I translated the concept into a cohesive visual identity and editorial framework, pairing impactful imagery with member case studies that demonstrated how FHLB Dallas products—including mortgage financing programs and liquidity solutions—helped institutions strengthen customer relationships and support economic growth. The theme provided a consistent narrative that elevated the report from a financial document into a story about trust, partnership, and resilience.

The Result

The Building Bridges concept delivered a clear, memorable narrative that unified the annual report from cover to cover. By framing financial performance through the lens of relationships and partnership, the report reinforced FHLB Dallas’s position as a dependable resource for its members while showcasing the tangible impact of its programs. The concept proved especially meaningful as the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, making the message of connection, trust, and stability even more relevant and demonstrating the strength and longevity of the creative strategy.
